Sencut, the third and youngest of the We Knife Co. labels, has a new large EDC knife on the way. It’s called the Praktisk (try saying that three times fast), and it delivers workhorse specs and materials from top to bottom.

Even within the budget-focused Sencut line, We maintains its reputation for airtight built quality – but one look at the Praktisk’s blade tells you that this one is meant to be a user. It’s a handsome, aerodynamic drop point, not too wide, with belly, straight edge, and tip all present and accounted for. It’s the kind of knife that looks hungry, ready to chew through dense materials like carpet, wood, or stacks of cardboard, the flagship cutting obstacle of many EDC users’ day.

The Micarta option is a bit lighter

The Sencut standby steel, 9Cr18MoV, doesn’t rise up to the level of Civivi’s metallurgical stable, but it’s not miles off either, and a good choice for a knife that might be used hard and put up dirty. When it comes to opening methods, we’ve got another pair of Sencut favorites, the spine side flipper (in their admiration of which Sencut is far from alone, of course), and the dual thumb stud. Both lefty friendly, as is the pocket clip which can be attached to either side.

However, the liner lock mechanism in place here does favor righties. It’s situated underneath scales that come in three different flavors: black G-10, green canvas Micarta, and an unusual yellow G-10. In keeping with the hard workin’ theme here, both of the G-10 models comes with a coarse texture to aid in grippiness under less than dry conditions. The G-10 models weigh 4.19 oz., while the Micarta one is a bit lighter, tipping the scales at 3.9 oz.

This one is marked as Coming Soon….so stay frosty.
