For 105 years, the Marine Scout Sniper was one of the most specialized instruments of war in the American arsenal. Grueling training in fieldcraft, shooting, reconnaissance, evasion, and more, the Scout Sniper Program has produced some of the best marksmen in the world.
With the Marine Corps closing the program in 2023, this legacy of precision is in danger of being forgotten. The Marine Scout Sniper Heritage Foundation was established to unveil and honor the rich history of Marine Scout Snipers.
MARINE SCOUT SNIPER HERITAGE FOUNDATION’S MISSION
“Provide for the construction of a monument to honor the war dead of the U.S. Marine Corps Scout Sniper community from all eras and conflicts, from World War I to the present. “
“Conduct ongoing research to fully uncover the illustrious history of the Scout Sniper community and properly account for every Marine who ever served and paid the ultimate price as a Marine Scout Sniper.”
“Educate the Public and our fellow Marines about the long and illustrious history of Scout Snipers in the Corps and the tremendous cost by which we earned our laurels in combat around the globe.”
Planned to be located adjacent to the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Prince William County, Virginia, the memorial will stand over 11 feet tall on a granite pedestal. Designed by Master Sculptor Sabin Howard, the memorial will serve to educate the public and honor the courage and sacrifice of America’s elite warriors.
SUPPORT THE FOUNDATION
There are several ways to support the Marine Scout Sniper Heritage Foundation. As a 501(c)3 charity, all donations are tax deductible.
USMC M40A6 Sniper Rifle With Complete Accessory Kit Raffle
The M40 series sniper rifle was the main rifle for the Scout Snipers since 1966. This clone correct M40A6 package is valued at over $30,000 and is almost impossible to find elsewhere.

“an authentic clone of a USMC M40A6 sniper rifle with an ORIGINAL Schmidt & Bender M8541 Scout Sniper Day Scope. Each component (minus the receiver) of our prize rifle is an ORIGINAL Mil-Spec part just like those on actual Marine Corps sniper rifles. Even the receiver is in a similar serial number range to the originals. It is perhaps the most accurate depiction that can be made of the rifles carried by Marine Scout Snipers during the late GWOT-era without stealing one from the armory!”
Commemorative Brick Pavers
Be a part of the memorial forever with commemorative brick pavers. “For each brick, you will receive a special Certificate of Registration recognizing your contribution and confirming the inscription you have submitted as it will appear on the engraved brick. Space for bricks is limited, so please respond immediately to be part of history!”
