Jens Ansø is leaving GiantMouse Knives, a company that he helped to form in 2015 alongside fellow maker Jesper Voxnaes and company CEO Jim Wirth. Anso has stepped down in order to pursue other projects and leaves behind a lineup of more than two dozen GiantMouse collab designs.

The GiantMouse brand has been defined by the knife making partnership of Ansø and Voxnaes. These two Danish makers blended their distinct individual styles to form the signature look of GiantMouse. “We’re grateful for everything Jens has brought to GiantMouse over the past nine years,” says Jim Wirth. “As we move forward, Jesper and I are focused on shaping the future of GiantMouse, while Jens will be able to dedicate himself fully to Ansø of Denmark. We’re confident this step will allow both brands to expand in new ways and achieve the unique goals we each hold for our respective visions.”

Ansø of Denmark has been around for some time itself, as a matter of fact. Ansø established the label in 2017, with the goal not only of creating an official storefront to sell his custom pieces, but to expand his shop output to include other kinds of products. “Co-founding GiantMouse with Jim and Jesper, and collaborating with Jesper on knife designs has been an amazing experience,” says Ansø. “I’m very proud of what we’ve built together over the years. GiantMouse has become a brand that represents quality, innovation, and a strong connection with its community, and I’m honored to have been part of its journey.”

GiantMouse has confirmed that all of the models Ansø worked on will continue to credit him in their product descriptions. Wirth offers some parting words about the success of the collaboration and the bright futures for all parties: “We’re proud of what we’ve built together and can’t wait to see what the future holds for both brands,” said Wirth. “This isn’t goodbye – it’s simply the next step forward for all of us.”
