Once you load up on magazines, you’ll need something to actually shoot at the range. Lucky for you, GunMag Warehouse has both. And a whole lot more like optics, tools, cleaning supplies, and just about everything else you might need.

With a wide selection of targets, you’ll have no issue finding exactly what you’re looking for.

TARGET RICH ENVIRONMENT

Depending on where you do your shooting, you might have targets already available to you. But just about everyone can use some decent targets of their own. But with so many dozens of flavors on the market, it can be a little rough finding what actually works.

Here are three that are easy to recommend. Good targets, won’t break your budget, and help you learn or practice skills that you will need to master.

Allen EZ Aim Non-Adhesive Handgun Trainer

While you can’t take targets like these as scripture, a handgun trainer target that gives you feedback as to why your shots aren’t hitting dead center is helpful to remind you of what you’ll need to work on.

A good handgun grip is one of the hardest things to truly master about firearms. It’s also the most fundamental to good marksmanship and never something you can skimp on. A target like this, especially for a new shooter, helps remind you of what you need to do right to get good hits on target.

Remember, the shots you miss never count. For defensive shooting or for competition, a miss is useless no matter how fast you sent it or how cool it looked.

One important fact to keep in mind; if you’re left-handed, imagine the target is a mirror image and reversed.

Allen EZ Aim Makin Bones About it

Fun fact, the human body isn’t designed like a USPSA, IDPA, or PCSL target. Humans don’t really resemble NRA targets either. Or most police targets. While those targets are decent approximations, real people have organs and those organs do different things. Some of them you can do without for a lot longer than you might think. Like most good firearm instructors try to remind their students, the body is full of timers but only a couple of off switches.

A target like the Allen EZ Aim Makin Bones About It gives you a better look at what is where and what kind of damage your shots might actually do. Granted, these are 2-D targets of what are actually 3-D people so it’s not perfect — but it’s a huge step up from NRA’s big dark profiles.

One great way to use these targets, if you’re looking for a hard mode and the range allows you to do it, throw an old t-shirt over the target so you can’t see the organs or your hits. Complete your drill, then take a look under the shirt to see what you really did.

Did you call your shots well? Did you hit where you wanted? The results will surprise you.

Allen EZ Aim Get the Game On

A great target for personal development or for having fun with friends, your range gear isn’t complete without a deck of cards like the House Of Cards target.

With these, almost anything is possible. Challenge a friend to shoot the best hand under a par time. 5 shots, 10 seconds, go. Loser buys lunch.

If it’s just you, play a game of solitaire. Shoot all the 2s, then 3s, 4s, etc. It’s a test of memory, speed, and precision that isn’t easy. 52 cards in a deck also means you’ll likely need a reload or two or three. Can you do it in under a minute? Two minutes?

For lower round-count drills, shoot 4 of a kind. Straight flush. Royal flush. You get the idea. The possibilities are endless and easy to make new again with just a little imagination. For a target that you can get a ton of use out of both for fun and for personal development, this is one of the best.
