G9 Defense has introduced its latest advancement in ammunition: the 9mm Subsonic round. Designed as a 126-grain External Hollow Point (EHP) and made entirely of copper, this round is engineered to maintain consistent performance through common barriers encountered in defensive situations.

Unlike many subsonic rounds adapted from supersonic designs, the 126gr Subsonic 9mm is purpose-built for self-defense applications. G9 Defense’s patented design draws on fluid dynamics to create significant wound cavities while reducing the risk of over-penetration. Testing in ballistic gel demonstrates consistent, controlled penetration and reliable terminal performance, addressing common shortcomings of traditional hollow-point designs.

The projectile features four parabolic flutes, a design element intended to maximize wounding potential and penetration control. Manufactured from solid copper, the round eliminates the possibility of jacket separation, even when encountering barriers such as auto glass.

Reduced muzzle velocity also means a reduction in recoil and muzzle climb. Subsonic ammo paired with a suppressor makes for a very quiet combination.
