Imagine being a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and not being able to do your job completely. You have leads you can’t follow up on, when you are allowed to, you aren’t given enough resources to do it correctly, and finally, you’re left with nothing to show for your efforts.
In the Government Agency office building I work in, there are a few Federal LEO’s using some of the desk space now, and after speaking with them, I’ve learned how frustrating the last few years have been. But the times, they are a chagin’, thanks to President Trump and DHS Secretary Noem. DHS / ICE and CBP have been energized with a renewed sense of empowerment and purpose. When you see Kristi Noem on TV or pay attention to the DHS newsfeed, you see she’s a very engaged and active leader who gets out there and finds out what the people on the street need.
And in this case, what she’s found that’s needed most is, more people. She has a point, according to the officers I’ve spoken with there’s a lot of people power involved with verifying identities/addresses/paperwork, doing surveillance, checking addresses, training, building a case, getting warrants for the people assisting illegal aliens and finally running a raid for illegals or those they are working/collaborating with. Now all those leads they weren’t able to follow in the past are getting looked at, and they need bodies NOW, not later.
In response to that, DHS has launched ‘Defend the Homeland’ Nationwide to Recruit Patriots to Join ICE Law Enforcement and Remove the Worst of the Worst from the U.S. To all those who spoke up and asked for additional bodies to help with the mission, congratulations, your voices were heard.
What does that mean for our beloved LoadoutRoom/SOFREP readers? If you ever thought about working for DHS/ICE, now may be your chance to support this effort. ICE is offering a robust package of federal law enforcement incentives, including:
A maximum $50,000 signing bonus
Student loan repayment and forgiveness options
25% Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP) for Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) Special Agents
Administratively Uncontrollable Overtime for Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) Deportation Officers
Enhanced retirement benefits
According to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem: “Your country is calling you to serve at ICE. In the wake of the Biden administration’s failed immigration policies, your country needs dedicated men and women of ICE to get the worst of the worst criminals out of our country,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “This is a defining moment in our nation’s history. Your skills, your experience, and your courage have never been more essential. Together, we must defend the homeland.”
