Folder with a crazy name and a spicy, futuristic look? It could only come from Civivi. This here’s the Neurohaptic, a folder with an intimidating blade and a handle that appears to have taken some of its style cues from the martial weapon category.

The clip point carries a bit of inherent aggressiveness in our opinion – but that’s a side of the style that Civivi certainly leaned into with the Neurohaptic. It’s a dramatic and low-slung clip, lent further attitude by a long sleek swedge on top and, beneath that, a fuller along the full length of the blade flat. Although the blade is quite long at 3.74 inches, it’s also fairly narrow, which means that the majority of the edge here is straight, with a belly that moves out gradually towards the tip without a ton of curve.

The Neurohaptic is one of many 2024 button locks from Civivi

On a visual level, the Neurohaptic’s flipper-fired blade isn’t miles away from the profile on Benchmade’s famous 940, and in terms of use categories, it should be likewise multivalent. The Neurohaptic can do everyday cutting chores, it can slice up food, it can be a self-defense tool or even an outdoors folder – and Nitro-V steel, a Civivi favorite, ensures that performance will be up to snuff for the price point in any or all of those applications.

With its slender silhouette and nearly symmetrical double guard, the Neurohaptic’s handle emulates the grip on some swords and daggers – or maybe that’s just our imagination playing some tactical tricks on us. Either way, the result is something roomy and versatile. Four different scale options are on offer – all of which are G-10, including the rarely seen shredded varietal, and another sporting a carbon fiber onlay to go with the fancier damascus blade.

The Neurohaptic is hitting shelves next month.
